Our consulting team in a strategy session

Consultants who have run businesses, not just studied them

Our founding team includes a former CFO of a £40m logistics company, a retail operations director who managed 120 stores, and a growth strategist who has taken three SaaS companies from seed to Series B. We pooled that experience in 2019 to create Brilliant Biz Advisors.

Why does that matter? Because we have sat in the chair you sit in. Cash-flow crunches at quarter-end, hiring mistakes that cost six months, pricing models that looked great on a spreadsheet but collapsed in the market. We have made those errors with our own money, and we know how to stop you from repeating them.

We keep our client roster small on purpose. Twelve active engagements at any time, maximum. That cap means your lead consultant is never juggling fifteen projects and sending you templated slides. Every deliverable is built from your data, your market, your team.

Services built around your bottom line

Each engagement starts with a two-week diagnostic. We look at financials, interview key staff, map your customer journey, and benchmark you against three direct competitors. Only then do we propose a scope of work.

Financial restructuring

We rebuild your cost base from the ground up. Most clients find 12–18% in avoidable overhead within the first month. We then redesign your reporting so you see margin by product line, not just a lump-sum P&L.

Growth strategy

Where should your next pound of revenue come from? We model your addressable market, test pricing elasticity with real customer data, and build a 12-month acquisition plan with weekly KPIs your sales team can actually hit.

Operations audit

We shadow your workflows for five days, then present a friction map showing exactly where time and money leak. The average engagement uncovers 23 hours of wasted staff time per week across a 50-person company.

Digital transformation

We select, implement, and train your team on the right tools. Not a bloated ERP that takes 18 months. We favour modular stacks: a CRM that talks to your invoicing, inventory that syncs with your warehouse app, dashboards that update in real time.

Market entry planning

Expanding into a new region or vertical? We run competitive intelligence, regulatory checks, and channel-partner sourcing before you spend a penny. Our feasibility reports have saved clients from three market entries that would have lost money.

Leadership coaching

One-on-one sessions for founders and C-suite executives. We cover delegation frameworks, board-ready communication, and decision-making under uncertainty. Sessions run weekly for 12 weeks, with a structured accountability log between each one.

Four phases, zero fluff

From first call to measurable impact in 90 days or fewer. Here is how a typical engagement unfolds.

01

Diagnostic deep-dive

Two weeks of data collection, staff interviews, and competitor benchmarking. You receive a 15-page findings report with prioritised recommendations.

02

Strategy blueprint

We co-create a 90-day action plan with your leadership team. Each initiative has a named owner, a deadline, and a measurable target.

03

Hands-on execution

Our consultants embed with your team two days per week. We run workshops, build dashboards, negotiate with vendors, and troubleshoot blockers as they appear.

04

Review and handoff

At day 90 we present results against baseline metrics. You keep all templates, tools, and playbooks. Optional quarterly check-ins keep momentum going.

Frequently asked questions

What size of company do you typically work with?+
Most of our clients have between 10 and 250 employees and annual revenue from £1m to £50m. We have also worked with pre-revenue startups preparing for their first funding round, and with family businesses planning a generational transition. The common thread is an owner or leadership team that wants external rigour applied to a specific problem.
How much does an engagement cost?+
Our diagnostic phase is a fixed fee of £3,500. Full 90-day engagements range from £12,000 to £35,000 depending on scope and the number of on-site days per week. We quote a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprise invoices. Payment is split into three monthly instalments.
Do you work remotely or on-site?+
Both. The diagnostic phase is mostly remote with one or two site visits. During execution we are on-site two days a week unless you prefer a fully remote arrangement. We use shared project boards and weekly video calls to keep everything transparent regardless of location.
What industries do you specialise in?+
Retail, professional services, logistics, and SaaS are our strongest verticals. That said, the financial and operational frameworks we use transfer well. We have delivered successful projects for a dental-practice chain, a craft brewery, and an agricultural equipment distributor. If your challenge is fundamentally about revenue, cost, or people, we can help.
What happens after the 90-day engagement ends?+
You own every deliverable: strategy documents, financial models, process maps, and training materials. Many clients choose our optional quarterly review package (£2,400 per year) which includes a half-day on-site review each quarter plus priority email support between sessions.
